With SAS Architects and Planners, Klaucens & Associates, Inc. provided engineering services for the Standard Club, one of the most exclusive private clubs in Chicago since its founding in 1869. Services included upgrades to the 6th floor and 6th floor mezzanine of the club’s downtown Plymouth Avenue location, including renovations to the members locker rooms and a new lounge area.

The renovations provided K&A the opportunity to redesign the electrical and plumbing systems in the club’s 80 year old Chicago Tower. High efficiency electronic sensor controlled showers and bathrooms were added. A new electric steam generator was added to provide clean steam for the new sauna and steam baths.

Ambient and direct lighting systems were designed for the locker rooms, lounges, corridors and lobbies including indirect fixtures concealed on top of the lockers.

A new television lounge/sitting area was incorporated into the floor plan including a refreshment bar that necessitated new plumbing and electrical risers.
