K&A working with SAS Architects planned and designed complete mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems from schematic deign through permit construction plans for the
Church Street Station Skilled Nursing and Living Center.
The 76,700 sq. ft., 3 story, “out of the ground” building was designed with packaged terminal heating/cooling units in each of the resident’s rooms to provide individual comfort control for the occupant.
Complete MEP design and coordination services were provided for a full service kitchen, a central high efficiency boiler system with redundancy and backup capabilities.
Working with the village, a full fire protection sprinkler system and alarm system were designed which incorporated the latest NFPA, IDPH and AAA regulations.
Resident amenities were designed, such as satellite television, wireless nurse call and resident response system, door security systems, closed circuit television monitoring and audio/visual systems in the common living areas.
A diesel generator system was also designed to provide IDPH required emergency power systems, and to provide back up power to the building for food refrigeration systems and elevators.
All mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems were designed to meet/exceed the latest energy codes and the American Society of Heating and Refrigeration and Air conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Standard 90.
