188 WEST RANDOLPH
Chicago, Illinois
Klaucens & Associates, Inc. is working with Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture and Village Green Companies on the renovation and redesign of the 188 West Randolph Building in Chicago. Built in 1929, the historic 302,000-square-foot Gothic building became a public hazard in 2001, when chunks of terra cotta began falling from its façade. The 76 year old structure will be converted from commercial space into 300 high end apartments along with 9,800 square feet of restaurant and retail space.
The $60 million renovation will retain the historic nature of the façade with the building being designed using all new, cost effective, energy-efficient systems.
